Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora (British singer-songwriter) is her name. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. At the age of one, her family took the decision to move to England. Her birthplace was in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School at Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at a young age. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. She was a contestant on Eurovision: Your Country requires You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest but later withdrew from the competition after a few episodes as she was not sure she was ready. Ora has released her first album in 2007, when she was featured on Craig David’s song entitled "Awkward" Then she made a second appearance on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began to sing in bars and clubs around London and in 2009 a A&R told Roc Nation about Ora, a few days after Ora went to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay Z's 2009 music video "Young Forever", and "Over" by Drake. Ora got the attention of Jay-Z and he shrewdly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in the commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik owned a pub and she began her singing career in that same bar. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her personality. She also mentions her father Besnik, who was a pub owner. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran have been friends for a while.
