Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She began in the business at the age of 4 by doing commercial work and voice overs. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her next film. She spent some time on Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in the park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah would go on to be a part of the team with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) multiple times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the Audrey Hepburns. The following year, she was featured on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), starring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth and Joe Gould's Secret ((2000) and Falcone ((2000)). Alongside her television and film work, Sarah studied voice, hip-hop, ballet, jazz and tap Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theater dance classes at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born in New York and raised there, Sarah spent much of her time working in film, television, and voice-overs for radio commercials in addition to traveling with her father, Edward James Hyland, and working at different theaters in the country. She was raised by her mother until she was two years of age. Then she went to public schools. She was accepted into PPAS in 6th grade. The school was where she stayed until her graduation in 2008. Sarah at the time was 18 years old, moved to Los Angeles, CA, after which she became a pilot with the name "My American Family". After her acceptance as a pilot, the pilot's name changed to Modern Family (2009). To date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) won many awards, the most notable being the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
