Thora Birch

Thora Birch (born March 11 1982) is an American actor and producer. Her first film appearance was in Purple People Eater (1988) in which she was awarded a Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age". Birch was a big star when she was young actress, appearing in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive an BAFTA nomination. Then, she starred as Enid in the cult hit Ghost World (2001), earning a nomination for the Golden Globe for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for her performance as the main character in Homeless to Harvard:The Liz Murray Story. Birch has also appeared in Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma during season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch is Jack Birch's oldest son, was born in Los Angeles. Birch is of German-Jewish, Scandinavian and French-Canadian in her ancestry. [6] Her name, "Thora," is an abbreviation of Thora, the Norse god of thunder and lightning ("Thor") (which could be her name if she were a young boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents played actors in adult films , and also appeared in Deep Throat. Because of their own experiences in the entertainment field, they were reluctant at first to encourage Thora. But, her image was shown to agents when a babysitter saw her imitation commercials. Birch was just four years old when she had her first big break when her babysitter took her to audition for a Quaker Oats advertisement.
