Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on the 25th of April, 1969, in Katy, Texas, Her mother Kjellfrid Irene (Andreassen), is a former nurse from Norway and midwife, of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish), and Swedish descent. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss engineer. They got married in the year 1963. Renee has a brother named Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on February 15 1967. Renee was a member of the drama club in high school and began to be fascinated by acting. She also took an acting course at the University of Texas (Austin), where she began looking to pursue a career in acting. Following graduation, she wanted to go back to acting, but Hollywood is a tough town to break into, so Renee made the decision to stay in Texas, and auditioned for roles in Houston, where she managed to land roles in films as Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey was another Hollywood newcomer she met while working on the set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: The Next Generation (1994). Renee watched him work on a project that attracted her. She was a part-time auditioner and was offered the role in Love and A.45 (1994). It received enough praise from critics to decide to move to Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came from another film role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) in which she starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was thinking about such actresses as Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei. He was enthralled when the actor Zellweger was featured in The Whole Wide World (1996). The audition was conducted by Zellweger to be sure the actor was in fact Dorothy Boyd. Following her success in a few independent films, Renee felt confident enough to make a return to the huge-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep starred with her in One True Thing (1998). Also, she acted in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) and starred opposite Jim Carrey, and soon after that, she started dating Jim Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) - in the lead role.
