Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
began her professional career as a film and TV producer, notably "The New
Card Sharks", (1978), and "Card Sharks" (1986). Post was later
able to create projects like Double Dare (1976), and appeared on various TV shows,
including E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman (2000). Her most
popular role was for her performance in "Christine Sullivan" who was
the Night Court star (1984). From 1984 to 1992 she appeared in 156 shows. She
was the daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and noted nuclear physical
scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7 in 2015). Had two
daughters with her second husband Michael A. Ross: Katie Ross (born June 26
1997) and Daisy Ross (born March 30, 1990). She was born in Palo alto,
California and grew up near Walnut Creek, California. She was a cheerleader at
Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California. Lewis & Clark
College in Portland Oregon awarded her a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was part
of the trick roping team in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). Her
ashes were returned home to Michael A. Ross, her husband. She was a long-time
Democrat. Markie Post, who was three months away from her 71st birthday date on
the 4th of November, 2021, died on August 7. She passed away 27 days following
Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984) co-star, died on the 11th of July,
2021. Although the two shows were completely unrelated, Night Court (1984)
ended in 1992 , with her character, Christine Sullivan, leaving for Washington
DC, and Hearts Afire (1992) was released later in the year with Post being a
character who was not her own Georgie, who was also a part of Washington DC
(and later moving to a smaller town).
