Natalie Dormer
(born 11 February 1982) is an English actress from England. She has won an
Empire Award and been nominated for two Gemini Awards, two Critics Choice
Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in Reading
(Berkshire) and made her television debut playing Anne Boleyn on the Showtime
series The Tudors. This role received a lot of praise. In Sweet Nothings
(2010), she made her stage debut and was also the Duchess of York in Madonna's
W.E. (2011) as well as Private Lorraine in Captain America the First Avenger
(2011). Her performance in After Miss Julie (2012) at the Young Vic was
praised. Dormer was a target of international attention and acclaim for playing
Margaery Tyrell in the HBO series Game of Thrones (2012-2016) and Cressida in
the last two parts of The Hunger Games franchise (2014-2015) that are her
highest-grossing film. She also played Irene Adler/Moriarty in CBS's Elementary
(2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price (2016, 2017) and Onica in The Dark Crystal:
Age of Resistance (2019). She was praised for her character in Penny Dreadful
City of Angels (2020). Dormer was born in Reading, Berkshire, England 11
February 1982. She was the daughter Gary Dormer and wife Claire Richards and
the sister of Mark Dormer and Samantha Dormer.
